They identify possible signs of abuse and neglect and explain the procedures they would follow to report concerns promptly to relevant agencies. Leaders discuss how they will complete regular checks of the premises, resources and outings to help minimise risks and maintain a safe environment. They also understand the importance of maintaining accurate attendance, accident and incident records to monitor children's welfare and identify any emerging concerns. Leaders explain how they intend to support children's learning and development through a range of planned and child-led experiences across all areas of learning. They describe how observations, children's interests and next steps will help shape activities and routines. Leaders explain that they generally make use of local parks and the local allotment to Inspector: broaden children's experiences and support their social, physical and communication skills. They understand the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles through balanced meals, healthy snacks, fresh air, exercise and regular opportunities for physical play. They also demonstrate an awareness of safer eating and sleeping practices. This includes managing allergies carefully, supervising children closely during mealtimes and carrying out regular sleep checks for babies and young children. Leaders explain how they will support children to develop positive behaviour, relationships, confidence and independence through consistent routines, praise and gentle guidance. Leaders demonstrate how they will adapt routines and activities to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who may face barriers to learning. Leaders understand the importance of building positive partnerships with parents and working with other professionals and external agencies to help support children's learning, development and wellbeing. Leaders typically use training, guidance and professional research to help support their ongoing practice and understanding of current requirements. They reflect on their practice and continue to update their knowledge and understanding of current requirements. About this inspection The inspector spoke with leaders, and staff during the inspection. We carried out this inspection under sections 49 and 50 of the Childcare Act 2006 on the quality and standards of provision that is registered on the Early Years Register. The registered person must ensure that this provision complies with the statutory framework for children's learning, development and care, known as the early years foundation stage. There were no early years children on roll at the time of this inspection. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with leaders, and an inspection of the premises, equipment and any relevant documentation. When there are no early years children present, inspectors evaluate and grade only leadership and governance, as there is no reliable evidence from other evaluation areas through which to assess the impact on children.
